Having conducted various art workshops in 2010 The Children’s Fine Art Gallery (CFAG) is now set to do something funky, fun yet create some experiential art. This Summer of 2011, CFAG brings you five fascinating packages of resourceful ideas to execute:

Folk Art: Pitching into the rich and deep-rooted Indian Visual Culture, this programme introduces the participant to the legendry Folk Art of the Adilabad region of Andhra Pradesh. Sharing its borders with Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa, this region is a rich cultural belt of art which has evolved a unique visual language of its own.

Clay Modeling: Like the invention of the wheel, clay modeling has a long legacy of utilising the element of earth for functional purposes. Beginning with the coil method to the potter’s wheel the entire aspect of clay modeling has adopted an artistic aura.

Project: Introducing or maybe reintroducing the participant to the method of Papier-mâché, the project is visualised as a collaborative effort where individually created animals will be assembled to create a fantasy kingdom of animals (keep Avtar in mind).

Assemblage: Installations and assemblages in art is a contemporary form of art that has unsettled many lay viewers of art. Therefore, to understand this prevailing art form of our times it is important to utilise opportunities created for such art.

Project: The participant will be introduced to this art form by slide shows of previous work done in this area followed by guiding them to create their own assemblage for a better understanding of this art form. This project will be an eco exercise which can be recreated in different spaces of schools, corporate houses, institutions and organizations or a mere collaboration of a group of people.
